MARCH 8 “ROCK N’ ROLL: FROM
ELVIS TO LADY GAGA”. Joel Najman, noted
Vermont musicologist, will speak about the
themes and origins of rock and roll. He can be
heard on WDEV and is the host to the VPR
program My Place. Joel will discuss what
inspired Elvis and those whom Elvis inspired.
He will also develop musical and lyrical
threads through groups from The Who to Moody
Blues. Remember those B Side records? Joel
will talk about their importance as the
stepping-stones for developing more complex
music in rock and roll history.
